When I started my cruelty free/vegetarian/pescatarian/vegan/elimination of single-use plastic journey, years ago it was a slow to action moment. I had watched a documentary program about farming, and it lit a small flame inside my soul about the ethical treatment of animals. I thought about it on and off for years but could never put it into action. Years later I happened upon an article about the biggest mainstream company using bunnies, monkeys, and other animals in their lab. The combination of those two things changed my life forever.

I started to research about which corporations were testing on animals. What truly animal testing meant to the animal itself and changed all my products that day while becoming a vegetarian overnight. It has not always been an easy task to accomplish in the beginning. Products were hard to find in my local stores, family and friends did not understand my reasoning but over time that has improved exponentially. I became obsessed with knowing about the companies I support with my money and products I bring into my home. I strive to do the best I can while being conscious that I will stumble and forgive myself for that. I just knew that once I had all this knowledge, I could not close my eyes anymore to my impact in the market even when small. It took years of finding this catalog of amazing companies and foundations that I personally have vetted or use myself to create this list of sites. It is growing every day and I hope this is just a starting point for you on this journey.
That is the goal here…You do not have to be perfect but maybe if you think twice about buying a certain product because it does not have a cruelty free bunny on it or if you decided to fill reusable water bottles at home instead of buying them for a road trip. Then you are succeeding. Thinking about your impact is the first step. Thank you for stopping by and hopefully exploring these companies and foundations that are doing impressive things to help the world around us all. #letkindnessgrow
